Here To Listen is a mental health faciality designed specially for Sri Lankan refugees who have arrived in Australia. I created promotional merchandise for this business I made such as business cards, pamphlets, t-shirt that employees wear and more.
Brief
To design and generate a concept product tailored to suit the design challenge or pain point for the cultural group that you have I had chosen in an earlier project, which was Sri Lankan refugees coming to Australia.
Process
This was a two-part project, the first being a research document on our chosen cultural group and the second being the design. I first researched Sri Lanka’s general facts, culture, history, taboos, sensitivities and important symbols. From then, I picked a pain point that refugees face when coming to a new country: struggles with mental health issues based on traumatic experiences. Once this pain point was decided I began to design the logo and promotional merchandise for this company.
